This Sulzer pump, type ZHO, was delivered to Rotaserve in a dreadful condition. This pump, which until recently had been used as a prepulping pump in the cardboard industry, was badly in need of an overhaul. The break down of the pump was due to one of the fan blades breaking off. Furthermore, after an inspection we also found that the pump shaft, axle bearing, gland, bearing bores and gland covers had to be rejected. Due to the urgency of this overhaul, we engineered and manufactured all the parts ourselves, in cooperation with our suppliers. The fan was reconditioned through welding-on the contours. Using a CNC processing bank, the original dimensions were subsequently applied. The overhaul was completed in less than 7 working days.
